Active workspaces expose gear to unexpected bumps and shoves. OWC ClingOn custom cable stabilizers (available separately) screw into the OWC Dock or OWC Drive housing to reduce – if not completely eliminate – cable strain on Thunderbolt and USB-C connections so you can work with ultimate confidence even in the highest foot traffic environments.

2. Thunderbolt 5 is capable of supporting up to three displays from a single computer host port dependent on the host computer's capability. This includes up to three 6K or lower resolution displays, three 8K displays @ 60Hz, or two 8K displays @ 120Hz. For example, presently Apple has only enabled support for a maximum of up to two native displays per connected Apple Mac Thunderbolt host port. Software driver based technologies, such as DisplayLink (as supported by the OWC USB-C Dual HDMI 4K Display Adapter), may enable additional display support.

  Power Delivery

  • Power delivery supplied to the host system will vary between 140W and 100W based on the power delivery supplied to other devices connected to downstream ports.
  • The host system may not require the full 140W of power delivery and may automatically negotiate a reduced rate based on the needs of the system. Some host systems may limit power delivery to 100W maximum.
  • Thunderbolt 5 device ports (for external drives and other devices) provide 15W of power.
  • USB port provides up to 1.5A of power for bus-powered drives and device charging.
