The two industry giants- Seagate and WD do offer a limited warranty for their hard drives, but this limitation has not been officially mentioned on their websites for years now .
We as a partner get a diminished value of the drive with each passing year and often have angry customers claiming that the warranty should be complete without such a limitation, as there is no mention of it on the manufacturer's website
This has now changed. Both Seagate and WD have started mentioning the "Limited Warranty" in their technical data sheets - a very welcome change. Customers have a right to this transparency - they need to know what they are buying and under what conditions
